The office is a key space for any professional. On the one hand, it is a place where we generally spend a great deal of time - more time, in any case, than we do at home - and also a carefully controlled environment where we must be creative and productive. No element of our office design must be left to chance, as the overall combination of color, furniture layout and general atmosphere speaks loudly about us to all visitors and particularly to prospective customers.
Needless to say, our own moods are influenced by the colors which surround us in the office. If we spend days on end staring at taupe walls (taupe, by the way, is generally associated with an inability to communicate and express our feelings properly), we may emerge at the end of the week feeling none to reassured about our creativity potential or about our ability to communicate effectively.
As a result, the colors on our office walls must be chosen carefully and with a great deal of patience. The first question to ask ourselves before making a decision is "how do I need to be in the workplace"? If you need your office walls to inspire you to be energetic, bold colors are what you need - magenta, for example, or else slid blues. Magenta in particular combines red, purple and pink in a vibrant shade that will allow you to concentrate and still boost your creativity.
If on the contrary, power of concentration is what you need above all else, olive might turn out to be exactly what you are looking for. Olive is basically a darker shade of green - a natural, earth tone that will allow you to concentrate without sapping at your energy level. Brown and cocoa-colored walls are also a nice option for the more studious among you.
Another interesting choice you may wish to consider is light orange - a basically energetic color which is known to boost creativity and happiness. Orange is a warm color, the same as light green (also known as moss green), which it complements nicely. Pale blue is also part of the range of soothing colors, and has been long known to help people remain focused and productive throughout the day.
As a final tip, make sure that when your office is (re)painted, low-odor or odorless paint is used. Nothing spells "unprofessionalism" more clearly than an unwanted, lingering paint stink.
Don't get used with the Paint stink; change your home using Crown's wide range of colors and ideas.
